I had a question today that I wanted t share….the question that has been asked frequently is "how to I et the images for the sidebar?" Meaning many of you now know how to add sidebar items but don't know where to get the pictures.

1. You can make them yourself using Photoshop or Photoshop Elements or other image editing software. I have a tutorial on this: https://www.blogsbyheather.com/2008/08/create-image-fo.html

2. Get them from the Stampin' Up! website. However, if you use images from Stampin' Up! then you need to add "All images copyright of Stampin' Up!" somewhere on your blog or sidebar text, or you need to add the text to the actual image using Photoshop or other photo editing software. Basically because you are using images that are not your own.

3. Get them from another source….such as Michelle Laycock, www.LaycockDesigns.com, often creates new images to be used for our blogs (such as the animated Birthday Promotion, Spooky Spider, Online Ordering and more).

To get the images from the Stampin' Up! website:

1. Go to the Stampin' Up! website (www.stampinup.com)

2. Go to Products, then Current Catalogs for example. There you will see many great images of all the current catalogs and product line.

3. Right-click on the image and choose Save Picture As and save it to your computer.

To get the images from Michelle Laycock:

1. Go to her site, www.LaycockDesigns.com and go to the posts where she is sharing her images, such as the animated Birthday Promotion.

2. Right-click on the image and choose Save Picture As and save it to your computer.

In Typepad:

4. Then in your Typepad account, go to the Control Panel, Files, click Browse and locate the newly saved picture. Click Upload and it is now loaded to your File Manager.

5. Save and upload all images that way, now you can use them to add sidebar items using the following format (in a NOTES Typelist), for example. Where it says "LINK TO YOUR FILE HERE", you will put the link to your newly uploaded image of the Holiday Mini catalog (for example) in your Typepad file manager…. Something like http://heatherporto.typepad.com/holiday.jpg.

Holiday Mini Catalog

target="_blank">
<img src="LINK TO YOUR FILE HERE"></a>

CANADIAN

target="_blank">

**************

In Blogger:

4. There is no file manager. You simple go right to Layout, Page Elements,
and Add a New Page Element or Add a new Gadget.

5. Choose a Picture gadget/element.

6. Continue with a Title and Caption, but then click the Browse button to
upload the image of the newly saved picture you got from Stampin' Up!,
Michelle Laycock or other source (and saved on your local computer).

7. Save changes and then drag and drop the new element to where you want it
on the sidebar.
