As you may know, I do have a newsletter service where I can customize your newsletter to compliment your blog – such as using the same banner and setting up and using coordinating colors in your newsletter, including all the sidebar text links to current catalogs and promotions, and more.
However, recently a few people have asked how do they change what a visitor would see when they choose to sign up for their Constant Contact Newsletter. So, I have written some basic instructions here.
- Login to Constant Contact.
- Under #2 – Build and Import your Contact List, click the blue text link “Add a Signup Box”.
- Then #2 on that list is the Customize Your Visitor Signup Form. Click that.
- I then uploaded an image to your image library of your Stampin’ Press blog banner. And choose to use that banner for the header of your newsletter.
- Change the Header Text to Newlsetter Registration for example.
- Change the Introductory Paragraph to be more personalized.
- Click NEXT.
- Here are more sections of text you can modify (SubHeader and Description) and which lists you want them to be able to choose from. You can select all of your lists or just a few or just one. For example, many demonstrators used the Holiday Helper and created a separate mailing list for that. That was separate from their main, General Interests, main mailing list.
- Click NEXT.
- More text boxes you can modify (SubHeader and Description). And where you can choose what fields to have your visitors enter or create your own questions. To create a question, simply click on the Custom Field 1 or 2 or 3 to create your own, then save changes. Then, to make it appear on your Visitor Signup Form, you have to put a check in the Display column, and a check in the Required column in you want that question to be required. You will also see a column for numbering…meaning to order which questions come first.
- Click NEXT.
- Then check whether to have the re-enter their email address. I check that but you do not have to.
- Click NEXT.
- Here is where you can customize the text color and background color. I normally modify these to coordinate with the colors of your blog.
- Click NEXT.
- You can click PREVIEW (upper left corner, button) to look at it before clicking FINISH (on the right).
Hope this helps!
