Tip #55: Sign Up For My Newsletter Box
Once you get your blog up and running, it is also important to get a newsletter up as well. Your newsletter can be used to drive traffic to your site and specific articles and pages – either public pages or those hidden where the links are only known to newsletter subscribers. Additionally, you should offer exclusive tips and articles to your newsletter subscribers. Newsletter subscribers are different from the set of people that subscribe to your blog, and you may have the same people on both lists and that's ok. To learn more about subscribers, click here. Popular newsletter services include Constant Contact, Aweber and MailChimp. MailChimp is a free, but powerful email marketing tool with auto-responders and templates to customize. However, Constant Contact probably leads the pack in popularity (I use that one personally and professionally) and offers a 60-day trial, and Aweber is popular for those with membership sites as it offers PayPal integration, and offers $1 for the first month. So definitely check out those three when considering an email marketing, newsletter service.
Then, you need to add the Sign Up box to your blog's sidebar. And that's our Tip #55. And place it near the top of your blog! Whichever email marketing service you choose, they have a tool to let you build a "Sign Up For My Newsletter" box to then embed into your blog's sidebar.
