While looking at Ellie Augustin’s blog I found a link to this website: http:/www.thecutestblogontheblock.com/, where you can download and use free Blogger backgrounds. Pretty cool.
It is very easy and has instructions on their site how to install it. But here they are:
- Login to Blogger.
- From the Dashboard, choose Layout.
- Click on Pick a New Template and make sure you choose Minima (if you haven’t already).
- Then, go to this website: http://www.thecutestblogontheblock.com/
- Click on Free Backgrounds from the left navigation bar area.
- You will see many to choose from. They only show a few per page so keep scrolling or use the category list. When I checked there were 244 samples to choose from. This is the one I chose which reminded me of Stampin’ Up!’s Doodle This stampset.
- Okay, when you click on one of the backgrounds it will open another window with instructions on how to add it to your blog.
- Copy the HTML they show you.
- Go to Layout in Blogger.
- Click Add a Page Element.
- Choose HTML/JavaScript (click Add to Blog button).
- Then, leave the Title blank and in the bottom window Paste the HTML code.
- Save and you are done!
What you then may want to do is change the Fonts/Colors of your blog to know coordinate with your new background. And/Or create a banner to coordinate with the new blog background.
- To adjust the colors of your blog, from the Dashboard, go to Layout.
- Click the Fonts/Colors tab and you are on your way!
